The answer to sin

I was a believer for almost 21 years before I happened upon Hudson Taylor’s spiritual secret, and was shocked how clearly he spelled out that the solution to sin isn’t trying not to do it. It isn’t accountability, it isn’t reading encouraging books, it isn’t seeking counseling. All such things may help, but there is only one way to stop sinning:

Taking your eyes off the sin, and putting them on the Lord.

“Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.” - Luke 12:31 This encompasses even sin. Why is this not more widely taught?

The hard questions of money.

The followers of Jesus Christ did not start to tithe until 787 AD under Pope Adrian. I have no answers but some spikey questions. What place and form, if any, does the tithe have in emerging theology and what are the implications for those that do tithe?

what's your sin story?

so i have a question for the storytellers of OST: on a personal level, what do you think about sin? on a daily level do you see it, feel it, address it? if so how? why?

A Doctrine of Sin for People Who Don't Know the Word

‘Sin’ is a word that not very many people seem to understand outside of the church these days. As a matter-of-fact, ‘sin’ is often associated with positive things (i.e. ‘sinfully delicious’). But the Bible makes it very clear that sin is a BIG DEAL. One of the primary reasons for the Incarnation was for God to deal with sin.

So, what is ‘sin’? What is ‘Original Sin’? Are traditional definitions of these terms still useful and relevant? How do we communicate the concept of sin to the people around us with any meaning?
