Interview published in Precipice magazine

An interview that I did with Darren King, mostly about The Coming of the Son of Man but also touching on the need for a narrative-realist biblical theology, has just been published at Precipice magazine. This is how Darren introduces the interview:

Re: Interview published in Precipice magazine
‘the reality is that those immersed within the EC conversation are often willing to embrace the complexities of the Bible in ways that are unfamiliar to others’
agree.
often times those complexities shed some gray areas over standards that have been proven as reliable and solid for a denomination to stand on.
the challenge for those engaged in the ec conversation who are also a part of a local church, is that even mentioning a biblical complexity that goes against a denominational standard can appear very threatening.

Andrew an upcoming hyperpreterist?
Andrew & readers,
I just wanted to inform you that the hyperpreterists (people who believe Jesus came back in AD70, the resurrection of the believers is past & the Judgment is done) are getting giddy. They see in your words the possibility of you about to embrace their teachings. They get giddy whenever they think a high-profile person is going to join them. They did this with Hank Hanegraaff from CRI when he wrote a book called "The Last Disciple" which appeared to support their views. Hanegraaf did NOT endorse hyperpreterism. They have done this with Gary DeMar over the years as he goes back & forth with sounding like a hyperpreterist.
Their last target was Brian McLaren of the Emergent movement who recently said: “I believe all predictive prophecies were fulfilled in the destruction of the Jewish Temple in AD 70 under the Roman Empire.” (source) (read here for more: http://www.preteristblog.com/?cat=99&paged=4)
Hyperpreterists are constantly looking for a "hero" to champion their cause. Once that happens, they think they will break into the mainstream.
So it appears that Andrew is their new runner-up. Beware of friendly hyperpreterists coming to pat you on the back Andrew, they really are just looking for a new P.R. man.
[Roderick Edwards is a FORMER hyperpreterist — very active in that movement for 15 years, left after coming to the realization that the PREMISE of hyperpreterist is faulty. Hyperpreterism MUST believe that 2000 years of Christian interpretation about eschatology has been wrong. That the Sovereign God of the universe had failed to guide His Church on this very crucial point & not until 1971 with the advent of hyperpreterist founder Max King did the world come to realize how wrong the historic Christian view had been. This is too much, this is arrogant & cultic. It leaves historic Christianity in a lurch & puts up a "new kind of Christianity" that is not recognized as ANYTHING that had ever been considered Christianity. You Emergents/Postmodernists better look out — the hyperpreterists have actually stated that they want to "marry" with your movement so that they can use it to foster their beliefs.]

Re: Andrew an upcoming hyperpreterist?
Roderick E is annoyed that HE was unable to be preterism’s “hero” and poster boy – hence his foray here…

Re: Andrew an upcoming hyperpreterist?
See Opensource community, here comes the hyperpreterists out of the woodwork. Kenneth Gentry once said, if a person makes the mistake of interacting with a hyperpreterist, that person will "die the death of a thousand emails" — since the reputation of hyperpreterists is to badger a perspective convert to death.
davo is a hyperpreterist that uses the term "pantelism" as a synonym. He knows full well my reason for leaving hyperpreterism had nothing to do with wanting to be a "poster boy" for that movement. I praise God he rescued me from that error.
