Realistic’ is there because of the debate with Virgil and with preterism. It seems to me that the writers of the New Testament thought of resurrection not merely as a metaphor for individual or corporate transformation but as a matter of realistic or real personal hope for life after death. I think this is a little different to the argument for a theological realism, which has to do with how texts work in context. Sorry for the confusion.
