Jacob - I wasn’t very clear, in trying to compress what I wanted to say. I meant Jesus’s obedience was to God in going through his suffering on the cross, and experiencing resurrection as a result. It is this (in Wright’s view) which is credited to us as followers of and believers in the messiah, Jesus, and more effective than any supposed transfer of the accumulated merits of his obedience to God through the Torah. (We are baptised into Jesus’s death and resurrection - Romans 6).
