Re: Yoga: evangelicals and muslims

In a curious loop into an earlier post, clips on the Youtube listings next to the aforementioned clip on the Youtube website reveal that John MacArthur proscribes Rick Warren for promoting heresy in The Purpose Driven Life.

Macarthur similarly condemns Billy Graham and the Pope for suggesting that some who have never heard of Jesus, the bible, or the gospel might be part of the people of God. (They actually use the language of salvation and going to heaven, but I have decoded that in deference to sensibilities on this site).

This confirms my longstanding impression that spokespersons for the Christian faith who belong to organisations with ‘grace’ as part of the title (church, theological seminary etc) often demonstrate viewpoints and practices which mean the opposite of grace.

Maybe John MacArthur is a poor target to select for criticising evangelical, or conservative Christianity. His extreme views can hardly be said to represent the whole.
