I find this a LOT.
when a ministry feels the need to right something that is wrong with the status quo it will often swing the pendulum too far in the opposite direction instead of finding a healthy middle.
for example, I work in a ministry which has been so focused (historically) on evangelism that is has almost completely neglected social involvement/mercy.
so in reaction to this a whole set of bible study curriculum was written. Its good ideas, but it swings the pendulum too far in the opposite direction… at first this is good because the other side needs to hear it to even begin to think about change, but then the materials need to be modified to reach a more middle ground.
i see the same thing with claibornes book.
