Re: Homosexuality not in the Bible?

Re: Homosexuality not in the Bible?

I see above hundreds of lines of discussion about exactly how and why Biblical references to same sex acts are not interchangeable with being a reference to homosexuality, which is a word describing an orientation, a state of being, not an action. Very few if any of the participants are claiming that because the Bible merely discusses sex acts and not orientation that this somehow means that G-d has no opinion or objection to those sex acts.

And yet you dismiss the entire discussion out of hand as nothing more than an abandonment of “unambiguous” textual reading and an abdication of morality by simply starting back at square one and equating sex acts with orientation!

Is it any wonder then that you find the discussion useless?

As an aside, sentiments such as “my heart breaks for each and every one of them” come off as exceptionally condescending and patronizing to those of us who are struggling with our identity and our faith. Despite what everyone in the heterosexual world seems to think, there is nothing “tragic” about not having a heterosexual orientation.
