Peter, You have raised a number of interesting issues which I will respond to later. I have read the Walter Wink piece to which you give the link and I think it is extremely interesting and puts a whole new light on this discussion in particular
- selective obedience to the commands relating to sex in the scriptures
- the over-riding importance of love in interpreting scriptural commands about sex
